Calvus Web Design — web design from Zurich

What Calvus Web Design is and who it's for

Calvus Web Design is the trade name of Rafael Colomina Laiz, who runs the studio as a sole proprietor. It is based at Haldenstrasse 161, 8055 Zurich. We work for businesses in Zurich and throughout Switzerland; projects outside Zurich run remotely by video call, phone and email.

Our clients are small and medium-sized businesses and growing companies that need a professional, fast and clearly structured website — without a site builder and without the overhead of a large agency. We build websites in German and English. What we offer businesses in the region is described on web design in Zurich for small businesses.

Who is responsible for your project

Your contact is Rafael Colomina Laiz, owner of Calvus Web Design. He runs the briefing, is responsible for design and build, and answers your questions until launch. There is no project manager in between, no handover to third parties and no ticket system: you write or call directly.

Calvus Web Design is currently not entered in the Swiss commercial register and not registered for Swiss VAT. Swiss VAT is therefore not added to the prices shown.

How we work

Every project follows the same four steps. The fixed price is set before we start and only changes if you request additional scope and confirm it beforehand.

1. 01

   Briefing

We discuss your business, audience, the pages and languages you need. You then receive a written offer with a fixed price and the exact scope. Work starts only once you approve it.

2. 02

   Design

Based on the briefing, we create the page structure and design. You see the draft early and give feedback before the build begins.

3. 03

   Build

The website is built for phone, tablet and desktop, filled with your content, tested and set up with the technical SEO fundamentals.

4. 04

   Launch

After your approval, the website goes live on your domain and you receive all access. Most projects are online within 1–3 weeks.

The full process, including what to prepare, is described on getting a website built in Zurich.

Fixed prices

We work with three fixed-price packages: Starter, Business and Professional. They differ mainly in number of pages, languages, SEO scope and support. See exactly what's included in the comparison table on web design prices for Zurich and Switzerland.

• Starter — CHF 1'990
• Business — CHF 2'490
• Professional — CHF 2'990

Why a fixed price and a short timeline

For many small businesses, a new website is an investment that has to be predictable. That's why we don't bill by the hour but work with a price you know before we start. You know from day one what your website costs and what you get. Additional requests are discussed openly before they are built.

The timeline matters just as much. Most projects are online within 1–3 weeks. That works because the scope is clearly defined up front, decisions are made directly with the owner and there's no coordination across several people.

Zurich and all of Switzerland

Our studio is in Zurich. Businesses from the city and the region can meet us in person on request. For companies elsewhere in Switzerland we work remotely — with the same process, the same fixed prices and the same direct contact. Websites are built in German, in English or in both.

What we don't do

So you can quickly judge whether we're a fit for your project, here are the limits of what we offer:

• Enterprise portals with complex integrations, customer logins or internal systems
• Large online shops with extensive product ranges and inventory management
• Projects below the Starter price
• Hourly billing with an open-ended total
• Promises of specific Google rankings
• Invented references: the examples on this website are studio design samples, not real client projects

If your project doesn't fit this scope, we'll tell you in the first conversation.
